Rebuild launches campaign to Spot the Signs of modern slavery

Rebuild East Midlands launched its Spot the Signs Campaign during Anti-Slavery Week 14th-20th October 2024 to help raise awareness of modern slavery and spot the signs of exploited individuals in our communities.

Modern slavery is a hidden reality in Derby and Derbyshire, affecting both UK nationals and individuals from other countries.

Rebuild wants to support communities in raising awareness of the signs of modern slavery in people’s behaviour, appearance and habits so that anyone experiencing it can be given the right support.

They are encouraging businesses and organisations to sign up to a membership to become a Spot the Signs Ambassador.  Membership enables access to a Spot the Signs fact sheet and Spot the Signs ‘badge’ which can be used across social media and communication channels to show support of the campaign and the fight against modern slavery.

Lesley Gladwell, CEO of Rebuild states ‘We are proud to launch the Spot the Signs campaign and invite organisations to join us in this vital initiative.  Together we can raise awareness that modern slavery and human trafficking aren’t distant issues – they happen in our own communities.  By working together we can make a difference and protect those at risk.’

The charity kick-started the campaign with two Launch Members, the University of Derby and Balls2Marketing who are pleased to endorse the campaign.
